Lucinda Mackworth-Young MA(PsychEd)
GTCL(Hons) LTCL(Piano) LTCL(Clar)

Well known for her lively, entertaining and experiential approach, Lucinda Mackworth-Young is a pioneering Consultant in Psychology, who puts relevant aspects of psychology and therapy into practical forms for music and dance teaching, learning and performing. Shedding light on many of the problems encountered daily and offering a wealth of practical tips and solutions, she runs courses in London and Norfolk and provides Course Work for the professional development courses run by Trinity College of Music, the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music, the Incorporated Society of Musicians, the European Piano Teachers Association and various universities. She lectures at Music Colleges and Universities (the Royal College of Music, Trinity College of Music, Goldsmiths etc.), for Music Teaching Societies (the Incorporated Society of Musicians, the European Piano Teachers Association, the European String Teachers Association, the Suzuki Institute etc.) and for In Service Teacher Training in schools. She has had numerous articles and advice columns published in music journals and music teaching magazines in the U.S.A. and the U.K. (notably in "Music Teacher", Rhinegold Publications). Lucinda is a Concert Pianist who specializes in Chamber Music and performs in Concert Halls, Historic Churches and Stately Homes across the U.K. She has had wide experience with students and pupils of all ages and abilities teaching the piano, clarinet, recorder, singing, choir, composition, improvisation and general musicianship. Lucinda is also the Founder and Artistic Director of the Houghton Centre at Houghton Barns, Swaffham, Norfolk.

Nicola Gaines BPhil(Hons) LISTD
Nicola Gaines is both a specialist performer and teacher of Early Dance. She trained at the London College of Dance and Drama and the Royal Ballet School's Teacher Training Course. She then worked with the late Belinda Quirey MBE for many years, in particular at the College of the Royal Academy of Dancing where she now teaches Practical Dance History to the BA(Hons) student teachers and is a tutor on the B Phil (Hons) degree course. She is a senior teacher for the Junior Associates of the Royal Ballet School being responsible for the use of Early Dance in the Junior Associate training and has arranged Playford and 19th Century dances for the JA's to perform. She is also the administrator for the Dance Research Committee of the ISTD and teaches and demonstrates on numerous courses -recently choreographing two dances using Baroque Technique for the Dance School of Scotland. Her own much acclaimed video of Baroque Dance (in which she is partnered by Chris Tudor) is available from Music Mind and Movement. Nicola Gaines is Chairman of the Dalcroze Society and a Trustee of the Language of Dance Centre.

Karin Greenhead GRSM LRCM LDS

Karin is an internationally sought after specialist in Dalcroze Eurhythmics, its theory and practice particularly as applied to the training of musicians and dancers. The success of her work is grounded in her own performing experience as well as many years of working with dancers and musicians at professional and pre-professional levels. She gives classes in rhythmics, improvisation, plastique animée, voice and singing, pedagogy, the application of rhythmics to the rehearsal and performance of repertoire and other "Dalcroze Subjects" (teaching in English, French, German and Italian). She teaches regularly at the Royal Northern College of Music (the prize winning Junior Strings Project), the Central School of Ballet, Trinity College of Music and Associazione Italiana Jaques Dalcroze. Recent work includes (in 1999) Summer Schools in Australia and Switzerlan; Troisième Congrés de Rytme: Paper "Anacrusis, Being and Action", Geneva, Switzerland; ESTA 2000 (Portsmouth) and many other conferences, workshops and performances. In addition, a film: "Die Befreiung des Körpers" directed by Norbert Goeller of Ballanzfilm made in Hellerau-Dresden, Germany. Karin is also Director of Studies for the Dalcroze Society (UK) and President of the International Co-ordinating Committee for Eurhythmics in Professional Training.
